Every studio needs a name, and for a long time ours was just a working title. When we decided to build something meant to last for decades — not just a game or two — we knew the name had to carry a story. This is how we arrived at Tugrion.

Part one: the tuğra

A tuğra is the elegant calligraphic signature that the Ottoman sultans used on official documents, coins and buildings. Each one was unique to its owner and drawn by master calligraphers. Its tall vertical strokes and wide, sweeping curves turned a name into a work of art.

What we love about the tuğra is not its history alone, but what it stood for: identity, craftsmanship and trust. A tuğra on a document meant "this is genuine, and someone stands behind it." That is exactly what we want players to feel about anything that carries our name.

The name is also personal. Tuğra is a name in our own family, and building a studio around it is a way of making something that belongs to the next generation as much as to ours.

Part two: the ion

An ion is a tiny charged particle — the smallest spark of energy, the moment something starts to move. We liked the idea that every project begins that way: with a small spark of an idea that grows into something bigger.

Put the two together and you get Tugrion: a signature of quality, powered by curiosity and energy.

Why the name is not about games

We started with mobile games, and games will always be close to our hearts. But we deliberately chose a name that is not tied to any single product. One day Tugrion might also mean useful apps, animated stories or educational videos. A good name should leave room to grow.

We also wanted a name that works everywhere: easy to pronounce in many languages, without special characters, and unique enough that searching for it leads to us.

The logo: three strokes, one direction

Our logo is a capital T made of three flowing strokes that rise together. The strokes echo the tall lines of a tuğra, and their movement suggests speed and progress — the "ion" part of the name.

The colors were chosen with the same care. Navy stands for trust and depth, the calm side of the brand. Orange stands for energy, warmth and creativity, the playful side. Together they say what we hope every Tugrion project will be: dependable and fun at the same time.

Built to be passed on

Most products are made for the next season. We are trying to build something with a longer horizon: a studio whose games keep improving long after launch, whose name earns trust over time, and which can one day be handed on to the next generation.

It is a long road, and we are only at the beginning. Thank you for being here at the start of it. If you would like to follow along, you can find us on Instagram, TikTok and X.
